Will Hair Removal Permanently Stop Hair Growth?

It really is the bain of our lives for those that dream of a body without hair, and something we spend millions as a collective, yearly on achieving what is portrayed as the perfect body - soft, smooth and hair free.

Can hair removal permanently stop hair growth?

In essence, no but what it can do is make the hair weaker and paler meaning that hair won’t grow as fast as it once did. However, this doesn’t occur with all hair removal techniques and there is a particular way that you can achieve permanent hair removal.

Your best hair removal options to help make your hair weaker and to grow back slower is through epilation (the process of removing the whole hair from its follicle) via waxing or the use of an epilator.

Shaving only cuts the hair off at skin level, leaving you silky smooth for a day or two max before you start to feel stubbly again, whereas epilation pulls the the whole hair out from its root. This will obviously result in a new hair having to grow from the root, and piercing the skin once more, which can take up to three to four weeks.

Much to popular belief, laser hair removal doesn’t actually permanently stop the growth of hair forever. What it does is inhibit the growth of hair for six to twelve months, which is when you’ll start to see hair regrowth and you’ll need to go for a top up session.

Through epilation (waxing or the use of an epilator) you’ll be damaging the hair follicle which means when a hair does grow back it will do so weaker and thinner.

By removing hair in this manner over the years you’ll inevitable end up with hair that takes longer to grow back and is weaker.

How does hair grow?

The body has many different parts where hair grows, but have you noticed how different parts of the body grow hair slightly differently? After all, leg hair isn’t the same as head hair. It grows differently and isn’t as long as head hair.

Hair has a growth cycle that has four stages:

  • Anagen
  • Catagen
  • Telogen
  • Exogen

Anagen is known as the growing phase which last for years and is the initial producing phase, where proteins and amino acids are sent to the follicle by the blood supply to produce a hair.

The Catagen phase also regarded as the transition phase will last for up to ten days and this is where the hair detaches from the shrinking follicle.

The Telogen phase (resting phase) can last up to three months and this is where the hair is resting. In fact between ten to fifteen percent of hair are in this phase at any one time. While this hair is resting, there will be the beginning of a new hair deep within the follicle starting to emerge.

The final stage, the Exogen phase, also known as the shredding phase is where the hair shreds. The normal average number of hairs to fall out on a daily basis is anywhere between fifty and one hundred and fifty.

How can you stop hair growth on your body permanently?

Through epilation you can achieve complete body hair removal on a permanent basis when used in conjunction with Frenesies Body Cream.

The cream works to stop the growth of the hair deep within the follicle but this can only be achieved when they whole hair has been removed from its root via waxing or by an epilator.

Frenesies Body Cream natural ingredients work towards stopping hair on a permanent basis, but will also nourish and soothe the skin that has had hair removed. Reducing any redness associated to hair removal, while moisturising the skin beautifully.

It only takes between two to four cycles for the cream to completely stop hair growth, but in extreme cases six cycles.

So in essence hair removal alone cannot stop hair growth permanently, but it can weaken the hair and prevent it from growing as quickly, depending what hair removal method you use.

If however, you use the Frenesies cream in conjunction with hair removal, you will be able to achieve permanent hair removal.
