Over the decades there have been many waxing styles for your pubic area that have been created, but do you know the difference between a Brazilian and a Hollywood?
Well, we thought we’d list the different bikini waxing styles and what they look like so you can achieve the right look you want at the salon. But first, let’s see what a bikini wax actually is.
What is a bikini wax?
A bikini wax is a process where pubic hair is removed either by hard or soft wax to leave the remaining pubic hair either in a specific style or to have it completely removed.
What bikini styles are there?
During the seventies, the look for your intimate area was ‘oh natural’ with very few women removing their hair. Since the seventies, however, there have been quite a few different bikini wax styles that have developed over the years, that have also become popular and removing hair being the ‘on trend’ thing to do. The following styles are the ones that are most commonly done which suit a variety of tastes too.
Bikini Wax
A standard bikini wax is where hair is removed from the leg crevice to your pubic area and on the top of the thigh. It’s a simple hair removal process that can appear daunting and painful at first but one you’ll soon become accustomed too.
You’ll be left with neat sides, hair on your pubic bone in a triangular shape, but with no hair visible from the sides of your underwear.
Extended Bikini Wax
This is the same process as a standard bikini wax, but the sides of the bikini wax move further in leaving you with less hair. You’ll be left with a smaller triangle with less hair on show.
Brazilian Wax
A Brazilian wax takes most of the hair off, leaving you with a small strip of hair in the middle of your pubic bone. Hair will also be removed from the Labia and the cheeks of the bottom. The Brazilian has been popular since the 1990’s.
Hollywood Wax
A Hollywood wax removes all hair from your pubic bone, your buttocks and upper thighs, leaving you 100% hair free down there!
Creative styles
Although the above bikini waxes leave you with a triangle, line or completely bare, you and your waxing technician do not have to create the same look. Why not become creative, and think of new designs you’d like.
You could have your pubic hair styled into a heart shape, diamond or even a martini glass shape. What about a simple postage stamp, where hair is left in a tiny square?
The possibilities really are endless when it comes to creating a style unique to you.
