Waxing Aftercare For Your Intimate Area
Waxing is quite possibly the best hair removal method to provide you with long lasting, silky smooth, hair free skin, for up to six weeks.
And if you visit a salon to get waxed then mess free too.
But like with any areas you get waxed, there are certain aftercare tips that you need to adhere too, which is especially true for your intimate area.
So we thought we would put together a little guide for you, so you know exactly what to do and how to look after your intimate area after waxing.
Apply a soothing lotion to area after you have been waxed. One that is without fragrance and any nasty ingredients. Ideally a cream or gel that is designed for sensitive skin and to soothe redness and the irritation that you have after waxing. Our Frenesies Body cream is the perfect lotion to apply after waxing, because it not only reduces the redness and irritation, thanks to the specialist, natural ingredient Salix Alba (also known as white willow) but can stop hair regrowth too.
Wear loose clothing including loser, cotton underwear, when you have been waxed and for the next twenty-four hours, as this will help eliminate any further irritation by an external factor. Anything that is tight will rub the area and make the healing time longer.
Keep the area clean but don’t touch the area with dirty hands. You may want to touch and caress your smooth hair free skin, but by doing so straight after waxing and the few hours afterwards, can increase the likelihood of an infection. This is because the pores will be open and susceptible to easily absorbing any germs.
When washing, use a shower gel that has been specially formulated for use down there. Fragranced gels, with lots of ingredients including chemicals can cause irritation in the following twenty-four to forty-eight hours after being waxed., so stick with a gentle gel/soap to help keep your pubic area in a soothed state.
Ingrown hairs be gone
With any hair removal method, you’ll be at risk of ingrown hairs. To keep help reduce the risk of having these, regularly exfoliate the area. This will help to smooth the area and get rid of dead skin cells that can clog the skin, which prevents new hair from breaking through the skin. If the hair can’t break through the skin, then it will start growing underneath the skin or back on itself. This will leave you with a red bump and most times cause a spot or even a boil as it may start to fill with pus.
As tempting as it may be, do not shave in between wax appointments. Not only will this cause stubble, bit will result in your following wax appointments not providing the result they should.
You see all hair has a three stage cycle and when you wax, you are not only removing unwanted hair, but syncing the three stages together so all hair eventually grows through at the same time, meaning you’ll be hair free for longer. If you shave in between waxes then you are stopping the cycles from synching together and preventing yourself from having the longest time possible hair free.
As we mentioned earlier Frenesies Body cream is a fantastic cream to apply after waxing as it soothes, but will also stop your unwanted hair from growing back all together. Leaving you with a permanent hair free area, and no more hair removal.
